The Great Khali's Feud with John Cena

Feud with John Cena

The episode of 30th April at RAW (WWE was back to USA by the way) could be dubbed as Khali's biggest yet push towards the top stardom of WWE or maybe even as Khali's biggest night ever. That night, John Cena was set to have a non title match against Shawn Michaels, but when Shawn Michaels was about to come to the ring, Cameras found him backstage knocked out and bleeding, so Coachman started accusing Cena of doing this to Shawn Michaels, but John Cena shoved him against the wall as an expression of denial.

A trainer then found Edge some time later (at the same night) knocked out and unconscious, upon seeing this, Coachman started suspecting that possibly Randy Orton had done this. Coachman then, after some time, found even Randy Orton knocked out backstage, and looking totally confused, went to Vince McMahon and informed him of the situation, Vince said he knew who did this and told Coachman that Cena and everyone else would know of the person who did this, for the main event that night.

So at the main event (which was NOT a match), John Cena came to the ring, took the microphone and started talking about the whole thing, Cena said that someone is trying to make a statement back stage in an effort to get his (Cena's) attention. Cena then called out the offender to "come get some". So The Great Khali came out and destroyed Cena, but prior to the destruction, Cena actually GOT KHALI ON HIS SHOULDERS as a set up to the FU, but Khali punched his way out of the F-U. The Great Khali then gave John Cena a tree slam (Chokebomb) and put his boot on Cena's chest and did his "Stronger Than You" taunt.

On 7th May 2007 at RAW, Vince McMahon came out to the ring and was about to book the Judgment Day match between The Great Khali and John Cena when Shawn Michaels came out and asked Vince McMahon to put him in a match for the #1 Contender spot for the WWE Championship against The Great Khali, Vince did it and Shawn Michaels was scheduled to have the match that night against The Great Khali.

The match started, but before the Bell could be rung, Shawn jumped on Khali, but Khali threw him off and away, Shawn then tied Khali to the ropes and tried to hit him but Khali big booted Shawn down. Khali then went for a Leg Drop but missed it, Shawn Michaels got the chair in the meantime and hit Khali with it, Shawn then gave Khali a low clothesline which got Khali flat on the mat, Shawn then went up on the ropes and handed a Savage Elbow to Khali. He then did his "warm-up-the-band" thing and went for the Sweet Chin Music, but couldn't reach Khali's chin, however Shawn got Brain Chopped.

Khali then threw Shawn to the corner turnbuckle and gave him a big clothesline. The Great Khali then put up Shawn for the Tree Slam (ChokeBomb) but Shawn Michaels eye raked him and pushed him over the ropes and out with all his strength, Khali went outside the ring, Shawn recovered and then started hitting Khali. But Khali just threw him away, into the ring. Shawn then went to the opposite rope and hit Khali with a baseball slide.

Shawn then went to the announce table and set it up for a DDT, he then tried DDT'ing Khali through it, but Khali threw him away, Khali then delivered a chokebomb to Shawn Michaels through the announce table and The referee asked for the match to be stopped. The Great Khali won this match.

Shawn Michaels REALLY wore Khali out during this match though, must say. Had it not been the super-powerful Khali but another wrestler, Shawn would have won this match.

Anyways, later that night, John Cena had a match with Randy Orton and when he was giving Orton his finisher, the F-U, The Great Khali came in and started walking away with Cena's title belt, Cena stopped the FU and shouted out to Khali, Orton started beating Cena up but Cena got him in the STFU. Orton held the ropes, so Cena ran towards Khali to get his Title back, Khali destroyed Cena with the Title Belt on the ramp, and then celebrated and did his "Stronger Than You" taunt with the Title and walked away with it. The Great Khali is now scheduled to have a match at Judgment Day against John Cena for the WWE Championship.

On 14th May at RAW, John Cena came out to the ring (no championship belt though Since Khali had took it last week) and got hold of the microphone and said that The Great Khali had embarrassed and humiliated him by taking the title away like it was nothing, John Cena then talked about how The Great Khali had never been pinned or forced to submit in the ring and destroyed whatever came in his way. Cena said that it was the first time in his life that he hit a person with his best shot but he didn't even move, John Cena then said that people had been telling him that the match at Judgment day wasn't such a good idea and he should rather forfeit and have it go, but then Cena said that he will take on the challenge all by himself and wanted to fight right now for what Khali had took from him.

Then Khali cut a promo with a translator (we'll have you the exact dialect very soon) and talked in Hindi which had him translated to "Nobody has accomplished what I have in the past few weeks, you could just look at the videos for proof" then there was a video segment of The Great Khali destroying everyone with his Brain Chops. Then Khali talked some more in Hindi which was translated to "This Sunday at Judgment Day, I'll be the new WWE champion, and John Cena, if you want some, come get some!".

Upon this, Cena threw away his cap and ran backstage, he then started hammering at Khali in hopes of knocking him down but Khali shoved Cena away as if he were a rag doll. The Great Khali then threw a trash can at Cena's face, he then picked him up and smashed him on the piping on the walls, he then picked up Cena again and chokeslammed him off a car, Khali then tossed John Cena into the Garage door for three times before finally choking Cena to unconsciousness.

Judgment Day 2007: The Great Khali V/S John Cena Main Event

Result: Khali lost

20th May 2007, The Great Khali and John Cena were scheduled to have a one on one match for one fall at Judgment Day's main event for the WWE Championship. The Great Khali had the belt and John Cena was the champion (because Khali took away the belt).

When Judgment Day kicked off, a video package was aired which showed two nuns in a Church singing The Lord's prayer (A christian prayer) and they showed the feud highlights of John Cena against The Great Khali. Throughout the Judgment day show, the match between The Great Khali and John Cena was put in highlights since it was the main event for the night.

The Great Khali then cut a promo in which the translator failed to translate the most part (but we'll do that for you), anyways, The Great Khali told Cena (again) to come get some. The crowd went ballistic whenever Khali said anything and did the "WHAT?" chants. Khali had the WWE title with him and was backstage during this promo by the way. Then there was a segment in which Krystal asked all the WWE Divas about their thoughts on who would win this match, half of the Divas thought Khali would win, and half thought Cena would make it.

Just before the match was about to begin, a video package was shown on the feud between Cena and Khali. John Cena entered first into the ring without his title, then Khali came with the title on his shoulder.

The match started with Cena and Khali staring at each other face to face (although Cena looked REALLY REALLY SHORT here). Cena then started blasting his punches into The Great Khali, which did not affect Khali at all, and then he landed a full force running clothesline. Cena went outside, and so did Khali and then The Great Khali threw Cena on the ring steps and kicked him around, Cena recovered and then landed a Blockbuster on Khali. Cena then went for the cover but Khali threw him away bench press style.

The Great Khali then kicked Cena's way out of the ring, and after some brawling, threw him back inside. Khali then went for a nerve hold on John Cena, but John Cena (seemingly, apparently) Broke out of it and then John Cena tackled Khali by his shoulder to the ropes, so Khali was tied up within them. Cena then saw the oppurtunity to land a series of right hand punches on The Great Khali. But the Great Khali threw him away and untied himself, and as Cena came back bouncing off the ropes, The Great Khali big booted him to the mat. Khali then tried Brain Chopping Cena but Cena blocked that (seemingly, apparently). But Khali threw him away outside the ring anyway.

They went into a brief brawl which settled when John Cena drop kicked the steel steps onto The Great Khali's left knee, which made Khali get in some pain, Khali left Cena outside and rolled into the ring, Cena saw this as an oppurtunity to capitalize and worked a Top rop Guillotone Leg Drop right on The Great Khali. Cena then applied (his monster defeating, undefeated, awesome, great, wonderful, absolutely amazing, a display of exceptional power and wrestling greatness) the submission hold STFU. After 35 seconds or so, Khali tapped out and lost the match to John Cena.

Note: Khali put up a great match, but Cena wasn't worthy of winning this one, I could have been okay with it if someone like Shawn won against The Great Khali, but Cena doesn't even deserve to win against someone like Khali, duh.

On the 21st May at RAW, The Great Khali was shown throughout the show talking to his translator at the back of the ring. Then after some time Khali came to the ring with the translator. Khali then took the mic and said something in Hindi (I don't have the dialect but dont get mad at me I'll get it this week and thats a promise) The Translator then said that Khali is saying that he was screwed at Judgment day because his foot was under the ropes all the time and he has NEVER EVER submitted to anyone, anywhere, in any match whatsoever.

The translator then said that everyone screwed on The Great Khali and that he was cheated with for the win (And thats a fact, Khali's foot was indeed under the ropes all the time and the referee didn't seem to mind it). Khali then said something on the mic again, which was translated as Khali saying that John Cena absolutely never took Khali off his feet throughout the match and had to use the ring steps to bring Khali down. The translator then said that Khali could beat this coward of a person known as John Cena anywhere.

John Cena then came towards the ring when his entrance music interrupted the translator, and then Cena said that Khali's foot was under the ropes but he still managed to get him tap out to the STFU. Cena then said that he used to be afraid of The Great Khali and the only thought he had was to survive against Khali before the match but now he has beaten Khali and will beat him again, Cena then called Khali a coward and said that he could beat Khali anywhere in the building at any time and that he wants a rematch as well.

The Great Khali, visibly annoyed, then went to John Cena and brainchopped him, Khali then gave Cena a Tree Slam (Chokebomb) and left him knocked out cold. It was announced later in the show that John Cena and The Great Khali will now face each other at One Night Stand 2007 for the WWE Championship in a falls count anywhere match.

On the 26th of May at a House show, The Great Khali defeated The Highlanders in a two on one Handicap match.

Next week on RAW on the 28th of May, Shane McMahon announced in the beginning of the event that Bobby Lashley will team up with John Cena to face Shane McMahon, Umaga and The Great Khali for a tag team match. Later that night, John Cena was interviewed by Todd Grisham, and upon being asked whether he was afraid of The Great Khali, John Cena said that he wasn't, and that The Great Khali was not invincible and could be defeated, John Cena said that he won at Judgment Day but there was doubt whether he won or lost.

John Cena then said that he would beat Khali at One Night Stand and that there was no doubt about that, Cena then left. After some time, The Great Khali and Umaga were shown backstage talking to each other with Umaga yelling at The Great Khali in his Samoan Language, Shane then showed up and called both of them "The Worst Prom Couple Ever". Shane then told Umaga to attack and take out Lashley and told Khali to do the same to Cena, Shane then left and Khali and Umaga started talking to each other again in their own languages.

For the main event, The Great Khali, Shane McMahon and Umaga faced Bobby Lashley and John Cena. Umaga started off the match by brawling on Cena, he then tagged in Khali who destroyed John Cena with all the frustration he had in him, Khali then tagged in Shane McMahon who stomped on John Cena before tagging Umaga back in.

Umaga then cornered John Cena and hammered him a bit again but John Cena started fighting back to which Shane responded with a cheap shot. Umaga then gave Cena a Samoan Spike and tagged Khali in, Khali then gave Cena a taste of his newest move, The Big Leg Drop.

The Great Khali then tagged Shane back in, Shane dominated the already destroyed Cena for a while but then Cena overpowered him before finally tagging Bobby Lashley in, as soon as Lashley was in, Umaga came inside as well, but Lashley delivered a Big splash on him. Lashley then delivered a DDT to Umaga and then started measuring him for the Spear, but got a Big Boot right in the face. Khali was tagged in.

Khali destroyed Lashley partially before John Cena came in and joined Bobby Lashley in attacking The Great Khali and both men attacked Khali into trapping him within the ropes. Before both of them could do further damage Umaga Samoan Spiked John Cena to the mat, Bobby Lashley came to know of the situation and tried to attack Shane McMahon, but Khali, who was now free from the ropes, delivered a choke slam to him instead. Shane got on the top rope, delivered an elbow to Lashley and pinned him. After the match, Vince McMahon came out and everyone celebrated the win.

Just before One Night Stand, The Great Khali went face to face against John Cena at Saturday Night Main Event, the match was the opening match for the night and The Great Khali literally dominated John Cena throughout the match and squashed him for the pin fall, this gave an indication of the intentions of The Great Khali for the One Night Stand.

The Great Khali V/S John Cena at WWE One Night Stand 2007

At One Night Stand 2007, before his Falls count anywhere match The Great Khali was in an interview with his translator Runjin Singh, Runjin said that The Great Khali easily pinned John Cena last night and would do it yet again tonight and then go to India for a huge celebration. Khali then took the mic and said that he would break Cena (In English)

Before the match began, there was a video recap of the feud between Khali and John Cena. Khali started out by overpowering Cena with a big boot, he then missed a Leg Drop and fell to the mat which gave Cena the oppurtunity to go to the top rope for an aerial assault on The Great Khali, but Khali got on his feet and threw Cena outside the ring from the top rope. He then put his foot on Cena's chest for a pin fall attempt but Cena kicked out.

Khali then smashed Cena's head onto a television monitor near the commentator's table. Cena recovered however and smashed Khali with a monitor in return, they were among the crowd now. Cena went for a pinfall attempt but Khali kicked out. Cena then decided that he would go for the F-U and tried it, but Khali managed to break out of it and then threw Cena on to a Crane, but before further destruction by Khali could occur, John Cena held Khali up for the F-U and executed it from the crane floor to the floor below, Cena then pinned Khali to retain the WWE championship.

On 4th June at Monday Night RAW, John Cena came out to the ring and said that he loved the wrestling business, Cena then told the crowd that after six weeks of getting kicked about, the Great Khali has now been "FU'ed". Cena then talked about the draft lottery. But before he could say that he was the champ, Vince McMahon walked in. He then verbally brawled with Cena for a while before putting him in a match for the WWE Championship against Umaga and The Great Khali for the main event.

Khali started off by destroying Cena, Umaga went outside the ring and Khali followed with Cena, Khali then set up Cena for a steel steps attack by Umaga but Cena ducked and Umaga smashed the steel steps on Khali instead, Khali got knocked out. Umaga and Cena got back in the ring and Cena started hitting Umaga to which Umaga responded as well. Cena then tried to suplex Umaga but failed. Umaga then sidewalk-slammed Cena out cold.

Khali then came back in, Cena tried to F-U but failed, Khali then slammed Cena and delivered a leg drop. Khali went for the pin fall attempt but Cena put his leg on the ropes hence rendering the pin fall unsuccessful, Khali was visibly frustrated and punched Umaga out, Khali then went back to Cena but Umaga pushed him away thus getting Khali tied into the ropes. Umaga then missed a running turnbuckle slam when John Cena moved away.

Khali then decided to deliver a choke bomb to Umaga but Umaga Samoan Spiked Khali instead. Cena, who had now recovered, Shoulder blocked Umaga outside the ring and then picked up The Great Khali on his shoulders for the F-U. Cena then pinned Khali for the win.

On 11th May at the Tri Band Draft, The Great Khali was drafted to SMACKDOWN as a result of Edge winning against John Cena in the opening Match and therefore this feud is thus declared as culminated (Unless John Cena is drafted to Smackdown)
